Gulf Fishing Report

Updated: 6 days ago

Offshore Cobia Action | Cobia Fired Up | Gulf of Mexico

Surface Temp: ~70

Water Clarity: 30–40’

Location: Gulf of Mexico

Weekly Report Date: January 27, 2026

First time diving with Max, we decided our best option was to hit a few Gulf wrecks in search of cobia.

My former wrestling coach had taken a few solid fish the day before, so we started at the same location. We didn’t see them there, but stuck to the plan and kept moving.

At our second spot, we found cobia swimming on the surface—always cool to see. Despite a few big bulls in the area, we stayed focused and were able to limit out within the first five minutes.

Once we had our limit, we headed back in and finished the day with some lobstering. Solid day!
